Cardinal Boneyard
The Urban Group of the RA Photo Club organized a return to the Boneyard in Cardinal, Ontario (www.boneyard.ca). We had visited two years earlier and I had a blast. So it was with great excitement that I returned with about 20 other club members. The venue did not disappoint. Anyone who likes to photograph old cars, rusty metal, broken glass, and beaten-up stuff, will love the Boneyard. Photography is with the permission of the owners. They could easily charge for the privilege but ask instead for a donation to their local food bank. That shows real class and I make a point of giving generously. I spent about three wonderful hours wandering around looking for interesting things to photograph. Naturally, with so much busted stuff lying around one needs to be careful but moving around isn’t a problem. There must be a significant turnover of material since I seemed to find different things than my first visit two years ago. After three hours it was time to return home about one hour drive away. Hopefully, I’ll be able to visit again in the future.
