Beechwood Cemetery
The Urban Group of the RA Photo Club organized an outing to Ottawa's Beechwood Cemetery. Beechwood is a National Historic Site and is the National Cemetery of Canada. It has large sections reserved for the burial of Armed Forces and RCMP members. It also provides the resting place for many historical figures. I had visited Beechwood a few times in the past but haven't been there for many years. This was my first visit in winter. About 15 club members participated, but the site is so large that there was lots of room for us to spread out. I used this outing to do some experimentation, both with shooting technique and post-processing. In a sense, Beechwood is a place of spirits and I wanted my photographs to try to convey that feeling.
