Mud Lake
I'd been eager to try a different photographic interpretation of Mud Lake. So I was quite happy to join a small group outing there that a good friend organized. As I often do, I arrived a bit early so that I could also photograph the stretch of the Ottawa river that is nearby. It was a perfect day with bright sunshine and mild temperatures. But what I hadn't expected was that the water level was so high that most of my favourite areas were inaccessible. Nevertheless, I took a few shots before turning my attention to Mud Lake. My route took me three-quarters around the lake, from the water treatment plant at the North to the small bridge at the South East. I mostly concentrated on water views, but couldn't resist taking some photos of the numerous wild turkeys. I wrapped up the outing by joining the group for ice cream at a local micro creamery. That's always a nice finish to a fun day with friends.
