Pine Grove

The Nature Group of the RA Photo Club held an outing to the Pine Grove trails in Southeastern Ottawa. The trails are managed by the National Capital Commission (NCC) and form part of Ottawa's Greenbelt. The area is a mixture of native woodland and tree plantation. About a dozen club members participated, and I went with a friend. We had an overcast sky and temperatures near zero Celsius. Recent warm weather left part of our trail flooded, but that didn't bother us over much. Such dreary conditions are actually excellent for close-up photography, which I mostly did. After a couple of hours exploring the forest a few of us gathered at a nearby restaurant for food and camaraderie.
