Shirleys Bay Greenbelt
A good friend organized a small outing to the Shirley's Bay Greenbelt area in Ottawa's west end. This is a popular forest location for walkers and cyclists. The Trans-Canada Trail passes through part of the area and a rail line bisects it. It was a bright sunny day. Many trees were in bloom, although the peak bloom may have just passed. In densely wooded areas such as this, I generally look for small subjects that I can isolate in some way. I also love finding interesting shapes and colour contrasts. After our photography work in the hot sun, we retreated for some welcome ice cream at a local microcreamery. What a nice way to spend time with friends!
