The Urban Group of the RA Photo Club organized an outing to the Boneyard with lunch in the nearby town of Spencerville. The Boneyard is an automobile scrapyard. It holds over 400 cars and other vehicles spread across 20 hectares. A few vehicles are relatively modern, but many are old and vintage cars. They range from fairly intact to completely rusted and decrepit. In other words, a photographer's paradise. About 20 club members participated, and I carpooled with a friend. We had intermittent drizzle and overcast skies, which gave us deeply saturated colours. Perfect weather for this sort of photography. I shot some wide images to give a sense of the amazing environment. But mostly I was looking for tight shots of details and abstracts. After lunch, my friend and I spent some time exploring Spencerville, and we stumbled upon still more vintage cars. Naturally, we took full advantage of the opportunity to capture some bonus shots.
