I am fortunate to live within walking distance of the Ottawa river. Something about the shoreline compels me to explore and look for photographs. It is also a great venue for testing out and experimenting with new equipment. For my previous visit, I brought my IR-enabled camera and a Chrome Lite filter. This time I wanted to try out another new filter: a 720 nm. This filter limits the camera to "see" only a tiny sliver of visible red light. Everything else that it sees is infrared. Infrared photography pushes cameras and lenses to do things they were not designed to do. As we include less visible light in the mix, the demands we place on our equipment become greater. This 720 nm filter is my most demanding filter, and I wanted to see how my equipment would perform with it installed.
