The Central Experimental Farm (CEF) is a unique and outstanding feature of Ottawa. Where else can you find a working farm surrounded by a city and close to the city core? The CEF was established in 1886. It remains a central research station for the federal Department of Agriculture. It houses laboratories and its crops serve scientific purposes. The farm also includes an Arboretum, Ornamental Gardens, and Tropical Greenhouses. Over the years, the farm has also become a popular nature resource for the general public. There are many walking and cycling paths, an agricultural museum, and it is often used for wedding photos. I visited the farm to further try out my infrared camera and 720 nm filter. All photos were shot with my new 28-400 mm f/4-8 lens.
