Mud Lake is a popular venue for Nature lovers in Ottawa. Most people park near the western trailhead and explore the SW section. I enjoy that section too, but I particularly favour the less visited NE corner of the lake and the nearby stretch of Ottawa River. The greater quiet and solitude of these spaces enhance my photographic process. They also have very photogenic shorelines. I used this trip as an opportunity to further try out my infrared-enabled camera. I used a 590 nanometer filter, which limits the camera to see orange, red and infrared light. The full colour interpretation was achieved in post processing.
