Limerick forest is a short drive from Kemptville, Ontario, but Ferguson forest is right in Kemptville itself. I've been to Limerick forest many times and it's a favourite location, but this was my first visit to Ferguson forest. Some friends and I decided to visit the first in the morning and the other in the afternoon. CLICK HERE to see a selection of photos from this outing.
I'm especially fond of Limerick forest because it has a variety of trails and different things to photograph, but the same can be said of Ferguson forest (although we only did one trail along the river). The light when we arrived at Ferguson forest was especially good, being afternoon and there were shafts of light coming through the forest canopy. We also found an interesting variety of native Clematis which I had never seen before and was very photogenic.
